Super Hot Porsche 911 Turbo S

8 Feb 2010

Porsche has revealed the fastest and most powerful 911 Turbo ever to hit the road. Enter the 911 Turbo S.

With South African deliveries set to start in May, Porsche has revealed the fastest, most powerful 911 Turbo yet.

Although the Turbo S badge has been used twice before (once on the 993 and again on the 996), those were purely limited-production models. This time around, the Turbo S is set to be a model in its own right, sitting atop the 911 Turbo range, right where it belongs.

Turbo S was developed to meet demand from customers wanting the ultimate driver’s 911 and, as such, many standard options of the 911 Turbo are included in the list price of the Turbo S. Now, are you ready for this?

Power has been upped from the standard 911 Turbo’s 368kW to a warp-speed-inducing 390kW, while maximum torque is rated at a potent 700Nm, up 50Nm from the standard Turbo. Despite these increases though, fuel consumption is said to remain the same as the regular 911 Turbo.

Power from the 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat six is transferred to all four wheels via a 7-speed, dual-clutch PDK ‘box that works in conjunction with Porsche’s traction management system. Wheel-mounted paddle shifters are standard – for the first time ever on a 911. Furthermore, the torque vectoring system, which includes a mechanical limited-slip diff, is also standard on the Turbo S.
