BMW reveals tweaked X6

27 Jan 2012

BMW has released the first official details about its revised X6, including very minor styling tweaks and an M package
In some more BMW news, the firm has released some official pictures of its revised X6, sporting minor styling changes but more importantly, a new M performance package.

You’ll have to look really closely to spot the styling differences but they are there. For starters the X6 will get redesigned front fog lights with a new matt finish surround, as well as a higher position. Other than that, it will now be offered with adaptive LED headlights as an option, if you don’t want the Xenon lights.

There will be two engines on offer, starting with the xDrive35i. This motor is a twin-turbo six-pot with 223kW on tap, sent to the wheels via an eight-speed automatic. Next up there’s the xDrive50i with a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8, which puts out298kW and will use the same eight-speed automatic gearbox.

If you want a bit more then the M Performance package is for you. It will give each engine an additional 40Nm, while increasing the power of the xDrive35i by 11kW and the xDrive50i by30kW. Naturally there’ll be some styling changes as well, including 20-inch alloy wheels, black chrome exhaust tips, stainless steel pedals, M branded foot rest and door sills, shadowline exterior trim, anthracite headliner and optional Carbon Black metallic paint.

The revised model is expected to hit American showrooms in around April/May, so we expect to see it here before the end of 2012.
