A new report has surfaced on the Internet, coming from the UK, suggesting that Mercedes-Benz is looking at seriously expanding its S-Class range with at least three new variants.
The first of these proposed new models is a four-seat S-Class Cabriolet, which is an interesting idea. There is also said to be a new long wheelbase version, that replaces the Maybach, and finally an S-Class coupe that is said to replace the CL-Class.
The source of this information is Dr Uwe Ernstberger, the project manager of the S-Class. He said, “The S-Class is the best luxury car in the world, and we have many surprises in terms of technology for the new model. It will deliver something very different to its rivals – and it will have a much broader range.”
Should these new models actually go into production, the cabriolet model is said to draw its inspiration from the Ocean Drive Concept that was seen back in 2007, which is pictured here.
