In the days leading up to the Geneva Motor Show, there were several rumours and teasers coming out of Lamborghini about a new hypercar. Now though, the car has been officially revealed in Geneva. Feast your eyes on this, the Lamborghini Veneno.
This is an ultra-exclusive vehicle that has been designed to celebrate the firm’s 50th anniversary. It has a price tag of R35 million in Europe and only three units will be made. Perhaps unsurprisingly, all three have already been sold, even with that pricetag.
It has been named after a bull that fatally wounded José Sánchez Rodríguez in a bullfight in 1914 and, according to Lamborghini, is a carbon fibre masterpiece that offers exceptional dynamics and optimum downforce with minimal drag. The car as a whole looks pretty amazing and styling highlights include a sizeable diffuser, scissor doors, an adjustable rear wing and a four-pipe exhaust system.
If you look in the back you’ll find an Aventador-sourced 6.5-litre V12 engine, tuned to develop 552kW. It is connected to the same ISR transmission and all-wheel drive system as the Aventador. This allows this 1450kg hyper bull to get from 0-100km/h in 2.8 seconds before it maxes out at 355.
